ON ICEOur on ice program will consist of: high tempo skating drills with attention to edges and quick feet, skating efficiency, and proven skating drills that have helped many NHLers and prospects. With the help of Zenon's skating coaches (Paul & Lucas Lawson), we have designed a skating program that works. Over the course of a week you will definitely see improvements. Zenon pushes the skater out of their comfort zone with different balance and agility drills. As well, he works on skating efficiency by lengthening the stride, and proper arm and hand movement combined with great balance and agility, which makes a great skater. Parachutes are also introduced for resistance, which forces the skater to use what they have learned, or the exercise becomes much more difficult. Many Russian prospects now come to train with Paul & Lucas because of their reputation with the Montreal Canadiens and the NHLers they work with. We are very lucky to have Paul and Lucas with us, and we are positive that the hockey player WILL benefit from this instruction.
Many drills will be introduced according to age and skill levels, and Zenon will push the players’ limits through countless professional drills. |
OFF ICE Strength and Condition /JiuJitsu&KIckboxingOFF ICE Strength and Condition / Jiu Jitsu & Kickboxing
Our off ice program will consist of: Hockey specific strength training using body weight and medicine balls. The Bosu ball, Swiss balls, wobble boards and forzi disks are also used to strengthen all areas of the body, but focusing mostly on the core. Agility drills: ladders, cones and hurdles are used to make the hockey player’s feet move quicker, and to challenge him/her mentally. Plyometrics: Step boxes, high hurdles, and resistance cords are used to develop stronger cardio and strengthen the hip flexor (where most of your speed comes from). Our off ice program is derived from many of the NHL programs which are at our disposal. White belt level Traditional Jiu-Jitsu & Brazilian jiujitsu. We are proud to have 23 time WORLD CHAMPION JEAN-YVES THERIEAULT and MMA pro fighter Craig"Farmer" Brown as instructors. We feel that martial arts training helps the hockey player pay attention to detail by learning to better focus while doing techniques. They will develop better motor skills by working on both the right and left side of the body equally. Core strength is also developed through this type of training. Most pro Hockey players are now cross training and seeking out Martial Arts instructors to assist them. Martial Arts instills humility, integrity and confidence. |
